Some Break-even exercises!
1)Easyyy one!
Selling price=4 pounds
Variable cost=2.50 pound
Fixed cost=1500 pounds
Volume=3000 units
Calculate:
a>B/E
b>Profit
Answer:
a>B/E= 1000 units
b>Profit=3000 pounds
2)Easyyy one too!
Selling price=6 pounds
Var.Cost=4.5 pounds
F.cost=30000 pounds
Volume=25000 units
Calculate:
a>B/E
b>Profit
Answer:
a>B/E=20000 units
b>Profit=7500 pounds
3)Normal!
Sales price=1.20 pounds
Var.Cost=0.45 pounds
F.cost=8500 pounds
Volume= 12000 units
Calculate:
a>B/E
b>Profit
Answer:
a>B/E=~11333 units
b>Profit=500 pounds
4)A little bit hard one:
Selling price=20 pounds
Var.Cost=15 pounds
F.cost=5000 pounds
Output=1500 units
Capacity=2000 units
We offered a new order for 700 units at a price of 17 pounds. To meet this order we will need extra machinery=1000 pounds.Should we accept?
Answer:Yes(not sure,)^^
[To solve this problem, you need to calculate an old profit and total cost, compare with a new profit and total cost, and MR.CHRIS after that how could we know SHOULD WE ACCEPT OR NOT???!!!

Eco And Busi Revision!
*Economics:
I have read all 10 pages very carefully and I have learnt glossaries. Here are some main glossaries that I wrote without looking at a book(just a little bit...^^):
- Economics:the study of how to allocate scarce resources in the most effective way
- Economic problem:how to allocate scarce resources among the alternative uses
- Household:group of people whose spending decisions are connected
- Micro economics:the study of how house holds and firms make decisions in market
- Macro economics:the study of issues taht affect economies as a whole
- Factor of production:the resource inputs that are available in an economy for the production of goods and services
- Entrepreneur:someone who bears the risks of the business and who organises production.
- Production:the output of goods and services
- Scarcity:not enough resources to meet unlimited wants
- Opportunity cost:the cost of the next best alternative
- Subsidy: a payment by a governing body to encourage the production of consumption of a product
- Productivity:output
I revised the "break-even" topic, and here are some formulaes:
- Break-even=Fix cost/ unit contribution
- Unit contribution=Selling price - variable cost
- Profit=Total contribution-Fix cost=Total sales revenue-Total cost
- Total contribution=Unit contribution*Quantity
- Total sales revenue=selling price*Quantity
- Total cost=Fix cost+Variable cost*Quantity
- Calculate sales revenue
- Calculate total variable cost
- Calculate total cost
- Calculate break even
- Calculate profit
- After the calculation start to draw the diagram
IF you want to see the video of break even chart is here!

Business idea of today's trip to London:FUNKY DIVA
There are may seminars, small rooms that had the talks with business people. And they are talking about how to start up a business, how to develop it,how to rescue it,how to help other businesses, how to manage a business, what ways to win recession and sharing their experiences.
One business idea that I'm interested in was about MUSIC.Their business is FUNKYDIVA,which is also the name of the special machine that they advertise.I was immediately enjoy it when I heard 1 it's R'n'B song. It's a machine or a big programmable computer which has thousands of tracks in it.Need great music for your party, then maybe you will need FUNKYDIVA.
In other way,FUNKYDIVA is a jukebox for the digital age.The unit comes preloaded with over 6000 MP3 sound and music tracks,user-friendly touch screen. When u order FUNKYDIVA jukebox, you also receive 2 250 speakers. If it's not loud enough,no problems, simply hire another set of speakers from the company or plug FUNKYDIVA into your venue's PA system.
I asked one of their presenters:
"What is the difference between this "thing" and a normal computer with 2 speakers???"
She answered me:
"This jukebox is more useful for parties,is more professional about the music in your party. And the high quality of the music,a lot of songs which has many cotegories and playlist which can fit every of your friends in your party. So every your friend can be happy with the music in the party. And also, before ordering it,you can choose a category and the music type, music style that you like, and that you want to create by yourself. Then our DJ will create it to you and make a full playlist with ur favourite music".....INTERESTING...^^
The price:
- Rental for 1 day: 290 pounds
- Rental for weekend:390 pounds
- 1 additional set of 150W speaker:50 pounds
- New and useful idea for parties
- Good design
- Modern use and high technological programme
- Deliver to home
- Many competitors:high technological computers
- Price is high
- Their website is too simple

EVALUATE IDEAS:Entertainment Exercise machine
"Develop exercise machines that integrate with an entertainment computer system of video and audio so that a person's immediate exercise performance directly impacts the game or scenario. Participants might, for example, 'rescue a dog trapped in a burning building' (stairmaster), 'escape from deadly assassins on motorbikes' (bicycle machine), 'flee through the park, chased by an escaped tiger' (treadmill)." Would you invest in this product?
This is an idea which makes people doing hard exercises be more excited.People who're lifting, running, biking know how hard and heavy all these actions and exercises. That's why we need this new business idea,to encourage people and add more fun.
What about my opinion,I think this idea is really great and useful.I would invest this idea, surely. Why not,IF you try your best and want your body....be SEXY ^^....It's not a problem. But there are many people that are lazy and doing exercises just for fun.By that way, they will do exercises wrong and could hurt theirselves.Because of lazyness and get borred fast, they might give up.This way,we can encourage that people....to make them have more fun, more excited in their healthy work.MAy be we can call it.....1 kind of "MOTIVATION".So there will be many strengths:
Strenths:
- Encourage people
- Add more fun to lazy people
- Motivate
- Advertise the firm in it
- New idea
- Need more technology
- Not useful for all ages
- Maybe people will get bored

Evaluating a business Idea:CDs in the rental cars
This is an idea to advertise the local businesses in the fast way!Usually, people who rent cars are visitor, travellers or new citizens. So that they need a location and navigation for the new place that they visit or come to.
Not only about navigations, also laws are needed too.And about traffic rules....many many problems and difficulties. So that this idea is pretty good and useful. And businesses also can order and can advertise by this way too.A good way for advertising.
Strengths:
- The good way of advertising
- Get more informations
- Need money to produce the CDs

Christmas Presents....For our lovely teachers!!!
Hi everyone, it’s Noel. When you’re going over your Christmas present lists, make sure that you don’t forget your children’s teachers!
Teachers play such an important part in our lives, it’s only right that we acknowledge all that they do for us when it comes time to hand out Christmas presents.
Each year I give a Christmas present to my children’s teachers and I’m going to share some of my favorite Christmas present ideas with you.Giving teacher an apple may be acceptable during the rest of the year but at Christmas it just won't do. What do you give the schoolmaster or mistress who's got enough woolly scarves and bath salts to last a lifetime?
"Christmas presents tend to go in cycles," says Diana Wynter, head of the Sacred Heart School at Swaffham, Norfolk. "There was one year when everyone gave photo frames. The next year it was chocolates, and then candles."
The unofficial getting-the-same-gift world record is held by the teacher in south-east London who received a Victoriana cat-in-a-basket ornament from six different pupils on the same day. Also in the festive hall of infamy are one psychedelic Wellington boot, a pillowcase, pasta brooch, pink knickers four sizes too large, three plastic reindeer joined by a chain and a casserole dish that, only days before, the teacher in question had donated to a charity shop.
But it's not just cheap tat that teachers dread. Websites such as www.homeroomteacher.com and www.gifts.com now offer parents the chance to express their gratitude through expensive, hand-engraved stainless steel bookmarks in the shape of an apple, or supposedly inspiring ornaments such as the £35 china eagle with a wingspan of more than a foot.
What's wrong, you may ask, with the good old traditional bottle of booze? Nothing, it seems, if it's the parent who's handing it over.
"Sending small children off to school clutching a bottle of Scotch isn't encouraged," says primary head Chris Davis of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers. "Mind you, it's not that good an idea to give a teenager a bottle of vodka to take on the bus, either."
Some schools make it clear that alcohol is not acceptable. "We used to have a blanket ban, but now we leave it up to the individual heads to decide whether to allow it or not," says a spokesman for Westminster Council. "Some do, some don't."
At St Paul's Boys' School in west London, they most definitely do -and with the parents' blessing.
"Mothers and fathers tell us that if we've had the trouble of teaching their son for the past 12 months, then the least they can do is ensure we end the year in a pleasant stupor," says head Martin Stephen. "As for the staff, if I tried to ban them from being given drink at Christmas I'd be lynched."
At some of the more prosperous private schools, parents club together to buy the form teacher one nice, big present rather than lots of little horrible ones. As a result, some members of staff leave on the last day of term clutching £200 worth of book tokens or spa vouchers rather than hand-knitted snowmen and bath gel.
Failing that, a nice box of chocolates or a plant will do. Polls regularly put these (plus drink) at the top of teachers' wish lists, though a survey this year (admittedly by the aid agency Unicef) found that what most teachers would like is for pupils to give (on their behalf) an "ethical" gift that would help people in the Third World.
"It's true," says Diana Wynter. "Ask my staff whether they'd rather get a box of Fortnum & Mason mince pies, or a village in India got mosquito nets, and I know what they'd choose."
Mind you, for true selflessness, it would be hard to beat Gordonstoun School's head of drama, Nigel Williams. "In my quest to motivate, engage and touch my students, I write each of my classes a card to show I know their names, care and am interested in them," he sighs. "I have even bought them sweets, chocolates and small gifts to reward them for enthusing or achieving. These days, receiving a card from a student is a rare thing. Showing teachers a sign of affection is not cool."
It's not just teachers of teenagers who miss out on gifts, either, it's head teachers. "Unless you're in the front line, teaching classes all the time, you tend not to receive presents at Christmas," says Pat Langham, head of Wakefield Girls' High School. "That said, I've made it known that I love owls, and as a result I have a huge collection of them, each bearing the name of the girl who gave it to me."
Of course, the other source of gifts for heads is the "Secret Santa" system adopted by many staff rooms, whereby you must anonymously give a random colleague a gift with a maximum value of £5.
"I know a deputy head who got a pair of plastic guns and a cowboy hat saying 'Deputy' and he was absolutely delighted," says Chris Davis. "Mind you, sometimes the gifts can be a bit pointed. One member of staff who was always late was given an alarm clock. Another who was always taking days off sick got a bottle of vitamins."
However, the most moving gifts received by teachers are those that have involved time and thought on the child's part.
"I was always very touched when I was given a present by children whom I had thought were shy, or not particularly enjoying my lessons," says ex-teacher David Almond, the author of Skellig and Clay. "I always felt the simpler the present, the better."
Former West Country teacher Marie Postles, who now runs a company supplying mail-order art parties, has no doubts about her best-ever Christmas present.
"A little seven-year-old girl was worried I might be lonely and need company over Christmas," she recalls. "So on the last day of term, she gave me a snailIn my country....Teachers are like our parents...We really respect teachers and it will be really really really rude if we don't respect it!That's why...teachers are such important for us....Without teachers....No knowledge.
Here's an example of a koooool teacher......Whose...I don know....maybe popping in the class...Kekekekeke....Joking!!!!..........."CHRIStmas"..<---What's wrong there????...Kekekeke....
There's a special day for teachers in my country 20th of November! Many teachers LOVE teaching so much, just because of their hobby, cause they like teaching....and the clearest example is Mr.Chris.I know he likes teaching very much......So this is a PERFECT IDEA to make our teachers happy.....(Or make better reports...Kekekekekeekekeke)....And this is the website that u can visit: really useful
There u can get idea about presents for teachers....ANd it's really hard to choose a present!I think this is the student's problem!!!...So that...this idea is for us....!!!
So what about the website. First of all,all websites have a good images. They decorated so good.Very colourful and creative. That is the most important thing. And the next thing is, is it easy to use or not???It's easy to use,and easy to read. All things and presents are clear. What about downloading pictures and other stuffs. As usual it depends on The Internet connection but the website lines as well. But these websites are fast I think.....
Evaluating Idea:giving a voucher in stead of paying for a fuel bills!!!
Strengths:
*New business idea
*Good way to encourage people.
Weaknesses:
*The quality of the voucher.
*Are they interested in the present or not!
Evaluating business idea 2:Speaking Mugs and cups
Of course yes! This idea is really creative and great idea for Christmas Business. It will be amazing if in the market has this cup.But it a little bit annoying...But this is not a problem.Th main thing is this is a great Christmas present just for fun!
I don't need to evaluate much..because I think everybody will think it's a good business idea!!!!Right???

I'm NOT Feeling Lucky...Google trick!
The "I'm Feeling Lucky" button takes you directly to the first web page Google returned for your query. You will not see the other search results at all. An "I'm Feeling Lucky" search means you spend less time searching for web pages and more time looking at them.
For example, to find the homepage for Stanford University, simply enter Stanford into the search field and click on the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button. Google takes you directly to "www.stanford.edu", the official homepage of Stanford University. So the new idea is there will be appeared a new search button..which is called:I'm NOT feeling lucky" that would automatically take users to a random webpage that would NOT be the topmost return for their query. This option would complement the 'I'm Feeling Lucky' button, giving the search process a creative twist.
This idea is really creative. The main pages of the topic that searchers want to know is very popular, and maybe they don't want to search it.And this service becoming older and useless. So why not create an "I'm not feeling lucky button"...for people to randomise it.....!!!!This will increase Google's revenue!

Baby Clothes Rentals
As we all know, children grow fast...Parents have to consider and they have their own anxiety for this.So one german company offers baby clothes for rent in order that parents don's waste money on children quickly outgrowing their wardrobe.
They have to buy much clothes for thei children, because child's cloth is easy to tear and can be broken. So this is a good idea for parents to think about it.
First of all, parents would consider about the price of rentals. It says it costs at about $30 per month and parents receive a shipment of neutral, 100% organic cotton clothing in the requested size.IT's quite cheap and suitable for customers.
The business idea said we can reduce, reuse, and recycle, which is a thoughtable service for everyone and also the environment. But will it still clean if someone else use it???The safety for the child is less,it will have some deseases or illnesses on the another child that used it before....
I just can evaluate by guessing....because this website is in GERMAN!!!!

Long-term cures must wait
The main reasons why it happened because of borrowing money, reckless and dishonest banking practices and the global imbalance between exuberant consumption and house-price speculation in America, Britain, Spain, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, on one hand, and excessive saving and austerity, on the other, in China, Germany and Japan.
The most thing I like is in that text is the comparison of this credit crisis with the heart attack.Rather than a heart attack, the global banking collapse could perhaps be described as a bullet in the head, since its proximate cause was a conscious decision by the US Treasury to jeopardise the stability of the world economy in pursuit of an essentially political objective - to show that the Bush Administration was willing to act ruthlessly against at least one big Wall Street investment bank.
So if there's problems,we also need to know about how to solve it???How to "cure" it???They give the most famous popular of this corruption is Lehman Brothers. It said he cure for the post-Lehman collapse is totally different from the prescription for the credit and property boom. Instead of restraining lending, punishing banks and encouraging saving, policymakers have to do the opposite. So what they need to do is They must support - and if necessary - subsidise banks, to create conditions for easier lending and borrowing terms and to do their utmost to encourage consumption.
Or there's the way more to cure, decrease and escape from that credit cancer is o slash interest rates and taxes, especially taxes on consumption and on lower income households, who are most likely to spend rather than save any extra money that they are allowed by governments to keep. They must also be willing to let their exchange rates float without worrying about inflation.
So if we will do that policies, the author gave us the strengths and the final advantage of that such as If governments around the world are willing to pull out all the expansionary stops - and especially if they do this with some degree of co-ordination - then the risk of a prolonged global slump will be much smaller than generally believed. So the final thing that we get after right policies is with interest rates near zero and big tax cuts made across the world, a robust recovery would probably begin by the middle of next year, starting in America and China, spreading to Britain and eventually reaching continental Europe in 2010.
And the final phrase that is really usefula and which is written by the author was:"There is no point in offering chemotherapy to a patient whose heart has stopped. "Which means we must help to businesses before thay collpased or closed....If not,our help will be useless and goes by the wrong way!
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE!

Kirill's businees idea!!!^^
"My new business idea is about tips in the local
pubs and restaurants.
Yesterday I was in the “Dong Dong” and after
dinner a waiter bring me the bill with 1.5 pounds
tips including. It really disappointed me, because
service was bad, food was awful. And I thought about
the improving of the income from tips.
I would like to explain some of the reasons. The first
reason is to motivate employers to work harder and to
be polite. The second reason connects with the first
one. It is a new good staff who wants joy your business.
It should be a psychological pricing strategy. It is to
minimalise the value of the tips. (Minimum 1 pound)
And make some notes in the bottom of the menu,
like “We like to now, what the money you are minimum
forget on the as table 1 pound, thanks for coming, we
are wait you again tomorrow”
The reason why tips should be 1 pound, because the
change what they have not more than 1 pound and if
costumer want give more tips it is probably and they
stopped care about that, few extra pounds. It is
better if we charge average cost of tips.
The local pub or restaurant have average no more
than 30 pound per day, but after that decision income
from tips increasing incredible depend from how many
customers coming per day.
I can see just one weaknesses connect with the local
pubs where the customers now the barmen, but actually
the can spend one money for a good barmen friend. You
can say what if you have a restaurant the tips more
than one pound, but entrepreneur can variable the
minimum tips, without depending from bill. And one
more things you can say what some people are coming
just to have cup of tea, but it just 11% of all
customers. Not so much, and the business can decide
about minimum price to include the small clients.
I no it’s not so clear but I need more time to develope
this idea."
So what do we get from that!Because of the service in Ding Dong restaurant was not good, and food was awful....so Kirill decided and created a new business idea....give the tips by customer's own.It means in restaurant and pubs,In a check, they don't need to include tips there, and it's like forcing customers to buy it,so he thinks that a new idea is to let customers pay by their own...!I think it's not a good business idea.As we all know, waiters are getting profit a lot from tips.So....Are that restaurants sure that all their customers are nice and give a high or even minimum tip by them selves???
The main thing is,in restaurants,it's quite good educated people enjoying it...so maybe they will be nicely given to waiters by anyway! But the thing is in the pubs...they drink and they get drunk....How can they still control their brain...to give tips for waiters....So that...no profit for waiters.Or even if waiters wanna get tips, they must try and be very nice to all customers....and that's very hard..because not all customers are nice.....and peaceful...Kekekeke....
So that,I think....Just put tips in the check, and people will know that..Or even If it was awful....That's not a really big problem If you give a little tips from your meal...^^
Thanks to my Russian and Kazax friends......!
And the second reason that why I wasn't angry...cause...sometimes....I do it too.....But then I sign on it...So that my friends can know that It was me...But this guy....he or she didn't...But I know it's my friend.....Kekekeke....Anyway.....Thank you my friends....Mary and Bibi...and others too!!!!

90 second Dual Pizza Oven
Pizza is a fast food and healthy.Workers, business people,engineers....all people that have work are very busy! And the first choice to full them up or to get on time to work in the morning is.....cook a pizza.!So Pizza is very usefull and popular food. But there are still problems with cooking it...Workers are in a hurry but they need 5 minutes to cook it.So this new product is the way to solve it out:90 second Dual Pizza Oven! One of the mantras of successful small business initiatives is to "do it faster" than your competitors. And this business idea got it!
This is the double deck pizza oven that cooks two 12" fresh pizzas in 90 seconds (or frozen pizzas in three minutes), allowing you to cook pizzeria-worthy pies 15 times faster than a traditional oven. The powerful device heats to 797 F (150 F higher than most professional pizza ovens), resulting in pizzas with crisp yet tender crusts. Both oven decks have roof-mounted 1,440-watt coil heating elements that ensure perfectly caramelized cheese and toppings, while the ceramic pizza stones distribute heat evenly across the dough and absorb excess moisture, resulting in faster cooking times and a crispier crust than pizza cooked on a sheet tray. The unit's compact size allows for use on a countertop or bar, and the stainless steel oven racks sl ide out, allowing you to easily insert and remove pizzas. The temperature of each oven adjusts independently from 200 F to 797F, the tempered glass windows allow you to monitor cooking progress, and the unit has dual 30-minute timers. Stainless steel housing wipes clean.
The strengths:
1)Faster than general oven.
2)It can olso frozen the pizza to keep it with high quality
3)New idea
4)It's sold out.....which means...many people like it.
The weaknesses:
1)The temperature is high....the pizza can be empyreumatic
2)It's big so need area.
3)A little bit expensive:$249.95
4)It just can cook pizzas
But its still a good idea....great idea...Which is useful for everybody!

Recycling Vending Machine(^_^)
Again....Business about vending machines.....!So as we know...All vinding machines becoming more high technological, more modern. So this is the new idea about vending machine....which I think is really really useful:"Reverse Recycling Vending Machine".Reverse vending machines, are automated machines that utilise advanced technology to identify, sort, collect and process used beverage containers. Used in Europe for over three decades, In most cases RVM’s are used in markets that have deposits on beverage containers, offering a highly efficient method of identifying the deposit amount of each container returned and providing a refund to the customer.Users bring empty beverage containers to this "reverse vending' unit and the machine sorts the materials into recyclable groups and crushes it.Income is made by being the local supplier of such machines to governments, schools and large organizations and emptying them.......Specially it's useful in schools.School is the place where educated people. But there are still many students that are not polite and...unconscious.So that...this new product....is the great idea.
The strengths:
1)Don't need workers.
2)Automatical
3)Usefull in many public places
4)High technological
The weaknesses:
1)Vandalism
2)Need location and area.

Drinking-Mixing Vending Machines
A new business idea with vending machines appeared again. It sells 1 kind of drink. But the special in this business not only in new kind of drink which is called Mix drink,it needs a special vending machine. This vending machine not as same as general vending machines.IT's more high technology. And this system is called The PouchLinkTM system. The PouchPackTM system, patented by Waterwerkz, enables water-based drinks to be freshly produced in-situ within a vending machine, filled in resealable pouches and served chilled, on demand. The machine filters mains water and makes flavoured drinks using widely available bag-in-box syrups.PostPackTM vending machines are capable of holding up to 2000 pouches, with capacities ranging from 200ml to 500ml, eliminating the need for operators to store, transport and stock machines with bulky cans and bottles. The high storage capacity of PostPackTM machines dramatically reduces the number of required restocking visits, increasing operator margins.
The strengths:
1)Don't need labours
2)Safe time
3)Advertising their brand
4)New sort of drinks
The weaknesses:
1)Vandalism
2)Need good location
As usual,all vending machines is a good way of business.So I think,this is a good idea....Why not?
