How to learn basic Russian???

As in Mr.Chris's blog said, teachers now prefer learning more foreign languages and it could be taught by students so I will post a small way to learn Russian.Actually Russian is a complicated language so here are just clues and usual phrases to communicate...!

An interesting article from today's Financial Times:

"Lee Iacocca, American businessman and known for his revival of Chrysler in the 1980s said: “Talk to people in their own language. If you do it well, they’ll say, ‘God, he said exactly what I was thinking’. And when they begin to respect you, they’ll follow you to the death.”

Ignore language and you ignore most of the world. In today’s business environment most global businesses receive the majority of their revenues from countries other than their own. When you speak to someone in their own language, you connect with them and bond with them in a way not possible in a language other than their mother tongue."

"Many companies simply ignore language because it is too costly, too timely or complex to handle. The latter is true for businesses handling large volumes of data in multiple languages. There are many vendors to deal with on the translation side; there are file handling issues back and forth between enterprise and translation vendor and there are many manual processes involved in getting content from one language to the other. And yet leading brands are showing the way in terms of looking to technology to help improve efficiencies in the processes behind doing this.

Take Intel and Philips for example. Intel uses a combination of technology and services to deliver its support website consistently into multiple languages. For the company it is imperative that there is no delay in getting the content out in all languages at the same time and yet many organisations struggle to achieve this.

The company is now also achieving more than 80 per cent re-use of existing translated content by applying some of the latest technologies. Philips also uses sophisticated technology to enable the delivery of all content across consumer electronics, domestic appliances and medical systems in more than 35 languages.

Another area where companies should not ignore language is in customer support. A customer buys a product or service but has questions or difficulties. Providing constant multilingual support is a challenge and cost – finding the people with both the technical and language skills is not easy."

Now, let us imagine you are an A level student, with spare time on your hands. You approach the teachers (and any pupils if interested) and say, 'I am prepared to offer conversational classes in Russian, once a week'. Teachers accept. They gain. You gain - as you become even more interesting to universities.

In this post I will show some basic Russian language words and phrases for people to learn. Some phrases that are daily used!First of all:

The Russian alphabet. with English translation:
А (a), Б (be), В (ve), Г (ge), Д (de), Е (ye), Ё (yo), Ж (zhe), З (ze), И (i:), Й (i), К (ка), Л (el), М (em), Н (en), О (о), П (pe), Р (er), С (es), Т (te), У (u), Ф (ef), Х (xa), Ц (tse), Ч (che), Ш (sha), Щ (sh:a[softer]), ъ (hard symbol), ы (uh), ь (soft symbol), Э (eh), Ю (you), Я (ia)

How to choose the right way to do your homework and watch a fottball match???

As I posted before about "how to choose the right Easter course?"..I'm going to post about how to choose the right way to do your homework with watching a legendary football match...=)))
You have a lot of homework...And at the same time there's a historic football match...Inter Milan vs Manchester United (Champions League)!
Today in economics "extra" class I have learnt the meaning of "trade off"..It means you do one thing but you will lose another thing. So if you will stay in you room and study...you will miss the great football match, and if you will watch a football match...you will have to stay awake at night to finish it...But what if you don't want "trade off" happen???So what can you do?

Here it is:

This is the view when you're doing homework at the same time with watching football match. And this how I do my business homework...and enjoying the football match!!!...Stay far from crowded and loud fans...by sitting outside the room!...~ ~
Good ye???....You have to try...!

How to choose the right Easter course!

Easter is coming soon, and it's a good time to come back to your hometown for foreign students to visit your family and friends. But what about students that are staying here in Oxford or UK and want to concentrate on their study. So they could register in the Easter course for A-levels.

So how to choose the right Easter course to make you feel happy with???
  • Price:
As we all know, usually Easter course has a high price. So this is the big topic that we have to consider, because all of us know student's life is poor and we have to choose the right decision to be suitable for us.
So of course we have to choose the price which is low and suitable for our wallet. But we can't just only consider about the price and fees of the course. Here are some more things that make us to discuss.
  • Quality:
Before signing in the Easter revision course,we also have to look through the School or the place that we're going to study. Is the study conditions are good???Is the image of the school is nice???Is the study environment is peacefull???If it is,so the price of course would be higher than schools that have lower learning environment.
So we also have to consider about the long term or short term that we're going to study. If it's a short term so we can choose the cheaper course,if opposite, the long term so we should make a choice of more expensive one but with higher quality of education and environment.
  • The reputation of the course:
With the good reputation it's easier to create up many events such as Easter course or Christmas course and we could easily to trust to the good brand schools, and demand for them is high. But it's not a really big topic that we have to consider.Of course if it has a good reputation so they will have high prices and fees. But what about the non-brand courses,it could be run by students or teachers.Students understand students most!
So why not join into the courses with is made by your school mate???And of course teachers couldn't be a student or if it is so the student have to be really brave and have high knowledges! But the most important thing is you can give advices to that student that run it and also join with full of happiness and friendship, also the price will be suitable for the students and cheaper than in other schools. But the main problem is learners will not trust the education and teaching as in the well known schools...But anyway the reputation is quite important thing to think about the choice of your course.

Evaluating:Vegawatt-powering restaurants with kitchen grease.

Grease is one kind of oil which is wasted after using to cook food or vegetables. So the new business idea and product has been created for the purpose not to waste vegetable oil anymore.Transforming form oil to the on-side electricity,it is very useful for restaurants and that is their most customers.Especially restaurants that specialised on oily and fat food such as barbecue or fast food.So how does it work???

Vegawatt's refrigerator-sized units are incorporated into a building's existing system in the same way as a solar panel is retrofitted. After filtering a restaurant's used vegetable oil, the unit combusts the refined fuel in a diesel engine, feeding electricity and hot water straight into a restaurant's system. The units won't provide all the power and electricity that a business needs, but can significantly improve its carbon footprint and running costs, as a unit typically provides 10-25% of electricity requirements.

Leasing the system for five years costs USD 435 per month, with potential fuel savings calculated at USD 850 per month. Alternatively, the system can be purchased for USD 22,000 outright, paying for itself within three years, according to Vegawatt. And that's without taking governmental incentives and rebates into account. Businesses further benefit by not having to pay or arrange for used oil to be removed, and also receive credits towards LEED certification. Last but not least, there's the reputation boost gleaned from going green.the innovative new cogeneration system for restaurants and food service facilities, uses your waste cooking oil as a readily available source of fuel to generate on-site electricity and hot water, saving your restaurant thousands of dollars as well as providing a clean, renewable sorce of energy.

*STRENGTHS:
  • Save on electricity and heat
  • Generate clean energy
  • Easy to use,no fuss no muss.
  • No more overflowing oil barrels
*WEAKNESS:
  • Taking a big place.
  • The energy could be low.

What are the effects to economy if the consumption to alcohol will be less.!

Today in the business class we were discussing about the useful topic:"ALCOHOL"
And now I will write about what the Government can do to encourage people drink less and the effects of these ways on the economy.
So what can the Government do to make people drink less?
  • Legislation:
The Government can change the law by increasing the allowance of drinking alcohol, for example from 18 years old to 20 or 21.So that there will be less teenage coustomers on alcohol.
  • New policies on the retailers:
Now the recession is making less people's income. So that, alcohol is bought in supermarkets or alcohol retailers in stead of buying it in the pubs or clubs. So the government can set up the new law like buying the limited amount of alcohol drinks. For example you can just buy 4 or 5 bottles of vodka.=)
  • Make advertisements against the alcoholic drinks
This way is quite useful because it doesn't take a lot of time and easy to give people's information because television is too familiar to people now!It may record osme deseases and illnesses to make people be scared of alcohol like Mr.Chris did in his blog about smoking kills!=)
  • Propagate the negative things for people to understand
Like the government can organise lectures and talks about the the alcohol affects in the drinker's health and so on.
  • Tax
The government can put on higher VAT on the alcoholic products so that, people will buy less because of the price has been increased. For addicted people,it may not affect a lot but for students and teenagers...it will defenetely decreased!
  • Create non alcoholic drinks but looks like normal alcoholic drinks.
The government can encourage and give the ideas that suppliers should create the image of the non alcoholic drinks to be looked like alcoholic drinks. So that,of course in the parties or special days, there couldn't be no alcohol. So people can keep these non alcoholic drinks to join in with others with not a big difference

But what may these policies affect on the Government.Forst of all,the demand for alcoholic drinks will decrease so that there will be less money comes to the government. Therefore, the Government spending will be less and it may cause the negative growth.Government will spend less on road investments, buildings,NHS and educations.
Also there's another problem may appear like shops and markets sell alcohol will have no sales and no profit. So that, they will lose their jobs and increase the unemplyment of the country. And it may cause the country to be behind of other countries in the race of economy.

Pop-up restaurant,10m up a tree!

Restaurants on the high buildings, near the sea or on the boats are becoming too familiar. Now the new business idea comes with the restaurant built up on the tree. You can look at the city or natural view on the big tree and with natural sounds, wind, air and the view of the world. Why not to try it and feel when like..."Tarzan".And what is special and how it has been made to make such a big amount of customers for it?Now all seats are appropriated and have booked a lot too.

Located near Warkworth, about 45 minutes north of Auckland, the Yellow Treehouse is a pod-shaped restaurant that was built as part of a marketing promotion by the New Zealand Yellow Pages to prove that all the suppliers for any project can be found through its listings. Serving as a case in point, the restaurant opened Jan. 9 and will stay open to the public only through Feb. 9, according to the original plans. The Yellow Treehouse was designed by Pacific Environments Architects and is situated above an open meadow and meandering stream on the edge of the woods. It sits almost 10m wide and over 12m high, with the split-level floor sitting 10m off the ground. Acrylic sheeting makes the mostly wood structure weather-resistant, and access is via a 60m treetop walkway. Inside, the restaurant seats 18, with kitchen and bathrooms on ground level. Lunch, dinner and afternoon tea are served, but currently, all seatings are completely booked. The project is currently considering whether to keep the restaurant open beyond the original plan, according to its website. Meanwhile, its exact location is disclosed only to those with booked seating, making idle sightseeing impossible for the masses.

*ADVANTAGES:
  • The recent idea with a natural resources
  • Quite mystery and people want to try.
  • Don't need to have....a cost of renting.
*DISADVANTAGES:
  • Customers are not really trust the safety on the tree.
  • The price of the meals could be high
  • If people comes into that restaurant...and then the price is too high ...they couldn't come out...because of the height of the tree...=)))

What can Toyota do???

First of all because there is a gap in forecasting. The Toyota MAnagers forecasted wrong,so they have to re-do it again with accurate details.
Now the increase in the price to help increase in sales revenue won't work because there's no demand for the Toyota products. How about to increase the volume of the cars, which means produce more. This actually won't work much because of the same problem....the lack of interest in the cars of consumers.

So the another thing that they may do to keep their business no to be collapsed is...producing other goods. In my opinion,Anyway the there's no or few wants for the cars, and why don't they produce another goods related to machinery. It could be maybe Toyota Microwave,Iron, bikes or even laptops.Because there's more demand for these products .

Or another way,is decrease the number of labours. So that managers will pay less wages to labours. But it will increase the redundancy. So there will be less money coming out.

I can't think of more ways,it's too late now...good nite guys!!!! <3

Podcast::Toyota losses expected to be 5 billion dollars

The world's largest carmaker, Toyota, has said its losses for the year are now likely to be three times worse than it had forecast just six weeks ago
Toyota has expected to make a profit this year but know it's going opposite and making a net loss of nearly 5 billion dollars by the end of March. The Japanese Toyota organisation hoped to be recovered by the United States in the car market. The Government is motivating and encouraging Toyota,Japanese car company, by Fiscal policies which are working pretty well, and by their forecast, they hope they will go up again at the end of the year.

Japan and other countries are facing the same problem. No one wants to buy cars at the moment. The demand for the cars is going down! And in Japan and other countries such as European are afraid of losing jobs.Toyotat said they planed to shut down factories, but they will still produce cars.

Business Idea:Golfing site offers free, personalized instructions!

Now a new business has been created for the special customers who are addicted to golf. Now,you don't have to go to the centre or learning classes and just need to go and join in the website course, then u're ready for the golf play. The advantage of this sites is there are 2 sections. One is the share forum for customers share there experiences and the proffessional advisors' forum. So that, you can learn basic learnings and new ones.

There are social networks for virtually every profession, hobby and interest, and golf is no exception. Myriad sites already exist to help golfers connect, but a new one that just launched adds professional video analysis and online instruction to serve up free, personalized golfing advice.

Links Lessons, based in Altamonte Springs, Florida, is a free social network that focuses on improving members' game. That may be a common goal among enthusiast sites, but Links Lessons goes beyond forums and general professional tips to give members the online equivalent of free, personalized lessons. Members simply upload a video of their swing to the Videos section of the site. There, it is analysed by a real golf professional, who then gives them feedback and advice on improving it. Amateur golfers can also use Links Lessons to interact with their peers, including commenting on each other's swings and profiles. Professionals, meanwhile, can use the site to gain clients and exposure.

Offering a win-win for both amateurs and pros—not to mention a raft of niche advertising opportunities—Links Lessons was built using Ning, an online service that lets users create, customize and share social networks focused on any topic.

*ADVANTAGES:
  • Free sign up.
  • Good website's advertisement.
  • Professional advisors
*DISADVANTAGES:
  • Learning by videos is not as good as with real tutors.
  • Not guarantee the success.

Evaluation a business idea:DIGIWALL

Another new business idea has been created which I think is very impressive. In stead of sitting in front of a computer and playing video games with food...this business idea gives us an opportunity for playing a useful video game and at the same time enjoying ours hobby, climbing on the wall.Kids are active and they like to jump and playing outdoors. But they are addicted to the video games as well and demand for video games in the age of kids and teenagers is very high.So that, this idea connected 2 things together to make children and teenagers be satisfied and the best thing is it also help customers to be aware of obesity, which is a 'market failure'.

This new attractive game called Digiwall.Digiwall is a gigantic computer game in the form of a climbing wall that boosts the fun factor and adds value in science centres, theme parks, hotels and shopping malls. An unusual, eye-and-ear-catching installation that grabs attention and attracts more visitors. Ideal for families, yet fun for people of all ages. An attraction for play and laughter.

Designed for use in public places like museums and shopping malls, DigiWall is a climbing wall with high-end surround-sound whose grips include both lights and sensors that react when they are touched. A variety of games, contests, challenges and creative experiences are possible on the wall as a result, using a combination of visual and audio feedback and body movements. Games currently available, for example, include simple ones based on physical activity and speed as well as more complex ones involving flexibility, bodily control and tactical skill. New games are also being added all the time, the wall's Swedish maker says. When not in use, DigiWall becomes a decorative sound and light installation.

Much like Wii, location-based games and gyms that use games to keep kids moving, DigiWall could be another weapon in the battle against childhood obesity—not to mention a novel and entertaining public attraction. Kid-friendly restaurants, stores, malls, museums—even airports or schools.

*Advantages:
  • Decrease obesity.
  • Made poeple be more active
  • Could be located in the public places.
*Disadvantages:
  • Many competitors such as games in the theme parks.
  • Just for young people.
  • Cost of the rent is high.

Business useful trip to the Covered Market and the Gloucester Green Wednesday Market

Today in the morning ,Mr.Chris organised for us a useful trip to compare between 2 markets:Covered Market and the Gloucester Green Wednesday Market.Especially I have an honour to spend a whole day walking with Mr.Chris(just me).We went to both Covered and Wednesday Market and walk through all of them.It was really funny and usefull as well.

And here is the comparison and my opinion about 2 markets:
In the Covered MArket, there's much cleaner and quiet that in the Wednesdat Market. But compare to the prices,I think in Wednesay maket, there's no such a big different from other shops.I bought an adaptor and it costs 3 pounds as well. But there are some fruits and clothes which is cheaper than in general shops, and of course, clothes there don't have high quality. And,there are also some weird advertisement for their products...which I don't understand and..Chris as well.

And about the Gloucester Green Wednesday Market ,there's much warmer and cleaner. And there are many ways to come in too, which could make customers be satisfied.Talking about the price level there,it has to be more expensive than in the Wednesday Market.First of all because there are more brands there. And they sell products which have higher quality. And also, the cost of renting there is much higher. Some of the shops run out of business as Chris said.

And ye...we went to a Tower as well....where we can see the whole Oxford from the top....INTERESTING...~~

And here are the pictures form the top of the tower...(which I forgot the name...Carliff or Carling something like that)..=)
And here...is our guide...Mr.Chris...:see the difference???

Normally:(even taller than Mica Monkey)
And so small here...=)) [right in the centre]

Business idea:Rentobile

Nowadays, people are more likely to use mobiles. The more technology is developing, more high modern technologies have been made. And so consumers like to change and to enjoy each of the new things in it.But there are many difficulties to changing it.After they buy it,if they want to return it back, they have to purchase the product and use it without returning it back.So they don't have something to motivate then to change their mobile phones. So that,a new business idea has been created.People can change their mobile phones or use it in a short period of time to enjoy each of the fashion.

Consumers longing to try out the latest mobile devices—whether for fashion or for function—must typically wait for their current contract to expire before trying something new. Aiming to make it possible to sample both more widely and more often, Rentobile provides a wide selection of the latest cell phones for rent on a monthly basis.

Users begin by deciding if they want to become a Rentobile member or simply rent as a guest. Membership rates begin at USD 5 per month; in exchange, members enjoy the site's lowest rental rates and other privileges. They then browse Rentobile's collection—including sections for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon as well as unlocked models—and choose which they'd like to try out first. All models are either new or in like-new condition, Rentobile says, with monthly rental rates beginning at about USD 15. Consumers can rent the device of their choice for as little as a month or as long as they want. A USD 9.95 round-trip shipping charge is assessed up front, so when they're ready for something new, they simply return the item for free and tell Rentobile what to send next.

Launched last year, New Jersey-based Rentobile brings the Netflix model to cell phones, joining a long list of companies that have already brought it to toys, books and snacks among other goods. All of which should please transumers, consumers who crave opportunities to experience products without contracts or ownership. One to bring to other parts of the world!

Website: www.rentobile.com

*Strengths:
  • New business idea
  • Suitable for developed countries and countries that are famous of mobiles phones.
  • Easy to increase demand.
*Weaknesses:
  • The quality of the mobile phone is not perfect.
  • The products could be broken.
  • The cost of buying new mode of mobile phones is high

Useful bricks!

Today let's talk and think about...what are the advantages of using bricks. What could they be used???I will try to list 60 uses of Bricks....GOSH....~ ~
  • First of all of course when you mention about bricks, you immediately think of buildings and other stuffs. So it can build buildings.
  • It can make the wall.
  • It can be used as a weapon.
  • It can be used to protect yourself from animals.
  • It can be used as a chalk.
  • Also to train yourself, like sitting on it with pain in your butt.So you will feel less pain if you will get punished by a teacher.
  • MAke the material for martial arts, like building bricks to fighters break it by their strength.
  • Use it to throw things get stucked on the tree....(not possibly on the window =)
  • Use it as an instrument.Could be a drum's stick.
  • Can do exercises for fitness, could be in stead of dumb-bell
  • Put it in your school bag to make your legs stronger by everyday going to school...and make sure don't be late.
  • You table or chair is shaky, you can put it under the table's or chair's leg to fix it.
  • Of course,to produce special and strong chairs or tables.
  • Could be used to kill flies and mosquitoes.
  • Make a dancing floor.
  • Could be an activity game, such as made a building by small bricks.Actually it's good if that idea would be in the cafe, when waiting for a meal or drink, you can play it not to be bored.
  • In my country there are a lot of games made by bricks such as throwing the small and roung pieces of bricks.

And this explaining what tutting is:

  • To hit on the table to make you feel...the centre of the attention and show off.
  • Or it could be a jewelry as well, like decoration for special days if it will be made carefully.
  • Or if you want to make your snowball fight even more interesting, you can put a small brick inside of your snowball, you will have more painful attacks.
  • It could be used to keep the door opened.
  • It could be used to make some magic.

  • There are 20 people in an empty, square room. Each person has full sight of the entire room and everyone in it without turning his head or body,or moving in any way (other than the eyes).Where can you place an apple so that all but one person can see it?
*ANSWER: Put an apple on your head.
  • A man has to get a fox,a chicken and a sack of corn across a river. He has rowboat, and it can only carry him and one other thing. If the fox and the chicken are left together, the fox will eat the chicken. If the chicken and the corn is left together, the chicken will eat the corn. How does the man do it?.
*ANSWER: First of all,the man will get to another shore of the river by carrying with the chicken and the leave it there,in another shore of the river. Then,he will come back to the first shore and then bring with him a sack of corn. When he get to the another side of the river,he will simultaneously pick up the chicken and put a sack of corn there. After that,he will bring the chicken with him to come back to the first shore of the river and pick up the fox and also leave the chicken there, the first side of the river. So that he brings a fox and a sack of corn to the another side of the river already. At last,he just has to come back to bring the chicken and then get to the another shore of the river. So all 3 of it are passes the river.

Podcast by Peter Day

Down Japan

After Japan's huge property bubble burst in 1990, the country was pitched into the "lost decade" -- ten years of economic depression, and the world's second largest economy still may not have completely recovered. Peter Day asks what the rest of the world can learn from the now familiar-sounding Japanese experience.
In the 1980s, Japan had a ridiculous property bubble, bigger than anything we have had. It burst with a vengeance in 1990, effectively bankrupting the banks, though they were kept going.
So in this podcast:Peter Day asks what the rest of the world can learn from the Japanese experience of recession in the 1990s.
He was discussing about his knowledges about the experiences of JApanese policies to fight with recession in 1980.

An online pawnbroker for consumers in a pinch!

The world's economy is on recession???It's hard to borrow money from the banks???...A new business idea has been created for consumers to borrow money exchanging with their jewelry, gold and other worth products. But the special thing in this idea is we can order and exchange it online, which is quite new.

Given the current state of the economy, it’s timely to see a makeover of an age-old form of personal loans. Borro claims to be the world’s first online pawnbroker. The company, which was launched in August 2008, offers short term loans to customers who cannot borrow from banks or have maxed out their other options, giving them cash for jewellery, gold and memorabilia. After filling out an application form describing the valuables they wish to pawn, a borrower is offered a loan of up to 40% of an item’s value.

Should they take the plunge, the borrower couriers their item to Borro, receiving their loan via bank transfer or postal order. Interest on loans accrues at 6% per month (lowered to 4% for loans over GBP 1,000), and loans must be repaid within 6 months for the pawned item to be returned, unless an extension is agreed in writing. Loans of GBP 100–GBP 100,000 are available, with Borro stating that over 85% of borrowers repay their loans on time and in full.

The site brings an ancient system into the 21st century, providing a convenient form of short-term credit that could be cheaper than unauthorised bank overdrafts or payday loans. It also creates a certain degree of transparency for customers, since everyone is offered the same rate. And sending items in by courier eliminates the potential awkwardness of dealing with an offline pawnshop. Based in Oxford, Borro currently only serves the UK, though European and US expansion plans are in the cards.
